About

HEDC has provided technical assistance to current and aspiring entrepreneurs in the Kansas City metropolitan area since 1993. The program’s services and activities begin with an individual participating in a one-on-one assessment with an experienced HEDC business counselor. Because each client’s situation is unique, HEDC provides technical assistance on a case management basis. The counselor and individual(s) discuss in detail the different areas of starting, sustaining or growing a business. This may include business planning, finance/accounting assistance, licensing and permits, legal/insurance issues, location assistance, marketing, loan packaging preparation, and assistance with the Minority Business Enterprise/Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) Certification process.
