Recently, the Kansas Office of Broadband Development met with your Economic Development Specialist to discuss our opportunity for a once in a generation opportunity to #connectallKansans. Under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, a total of $45.2B was funded for the NTIA BEAD and DEA Programs nationally, $42.45B for BEAD and $2.75B respectively. Please see attached document for more information on this program.
To better understand what’s happening at the regional level and the opportunities/barriers available we invite you to a meeting to learn more and participate in the process. Please know we respect your time and acknowledge the turn around on this meeting request is very short. There is great urgency behind this work as the Kansas Office of Broadband is working against a very tight federal deadline to engage with partners and community across the state. Please know we appreciate your willingness to do what you can to make this meeting or to forward it on to someone you think will provide valuable feedback and support on this work.
Join us for a meeting May 8 at 4 p.m. Look for a calendar event to come your way along with meeting information linked below.
Meeting Goal: KOBD and the Department of Commerce is asking for your assistance in developing an asset inventory plan for your region of Kansas. The first step is identifying the stakeholders and stakeholder groups. KOBD has developed a draft list for your region/county and asks that you review and edit, add, or subtract from the draft list to be as expansive as possible.
Again, we thank you for your time and appreciate all you are doing to support Kansas and the communities you serve.
