NetWork Kansas Announces New Product: VentureDash

Innovative Software to Drive Growth of Youth Entrepreneurship Series

Wichita, Kansas, --- Today NetWork Kansas announced the roll-out of VentureDash, an online entrepreneurship competition management system designed to streamline the facilitation of entrepreneurship fairs and business plan competitions held throughout the state. The system was created by Moonbase Labs based out of Wichita, and will soon be implemented in Entrepreneurship (E-) Communities across the state.

"The development of VentureDash is an incredible asset to our E-Communities and those who participate in the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge Series,” stated Amara Kniep, Product Manager of E-Community Programs, NetWork Kansas. “This new software will make competitions run efficiently, provide resources at a level of depth not available before, and have a sleek and seamless user interface to top it off."

VentureDash is designed to be a one-stop-shop to facilitate planning, organizing, and executing a competition from start to finish. One of the features allows mentors, entrepreneurs, and judges to register for their local competition and track participation numbers. The judges are able to use the scoring system to evaluate and enter scores. It will then calculate the winners on its own, saving organizers time and effort.

"We've had the pleasure of working alongside the Network Kansas team to support and grow youth entrepreneurship for the past five years. As our programs grew, we encountered challenges with finding adequate technology to support the unique elements of our events,” said Chad Jackson, Director of the Center for the Advancement of Entrepreneurship at Kansas State University.  “We could not be more excited by the development of VentureDash, and look forward to it saving us precious time and money, so we can re-focus on the most important part of our work - supporting student entrepreneurs."

The Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge has seen significant growth over the past several years. It has grown from five competitions and 48 students in 2013-2014 to 40 competitions and 865 students in 2018-2019. VentureDash will not only be available to E-Community Partners, but to other communities throughout the state and beyond who are interested in organizing and executing any type of competition - entrepreneurship, business, or otherwise.

"We've experienced first-hand the challenge of coordinating entrepreneurship competitions and are thrilled to design a tool that makes hosting a competition effortless," said Ted Kriwiel, CEO of Moonbase Labs.
