The NWKP&DC is actually made up of three different organizations (community, business, and housing). The NWKP&DC prepares and administers Community Development Block Grants for cities and counties in the NW Kansas region. These projects include water, sewer, EMS, Fire Stations, Community Buildings, etc. The second organization, Pioneer Country Development, Inc. (PCDI) works strictly with business development and finance. Persons wanting to start, expand or purchase a business are assisted in the preparation of a business finance proposal. These include the Small Business Administration, Rural Development, Community Development Block Grant - ED, revolving loan funds, county micro loan funds, direct bank loans, and other KDOC funding. The third organization is the Northwest Kansas Housing, Inc. which strictly works with housing development and rehabilitation.
