YEC Series Student Spotlight: Bridget Stanton, Bridge Digital Marketing

Bridget Stanton competed in the YEC Series during the 2016-2017 academic year. She placed first in her local Riley County event and advanced to the YEC State Championship in April 2017, where she took fourth place with her business Bridge Digital Marketing. Below she talks about how this program has influenced her as an entrepreneur.

Q: Describe your business and how it's grown since participating in the YEC Series.

A: "I started my business, Bridge Digital Marketing, after taking several digital marketing and design courses. I offer social media management, web design, and promotional graphics. My services are personal and tailored to the small business owner for a fraction of the cost of large marketing agencies, setting my business apart from competitors. I started by focusing on equine and ag business owners, since I have a strong agricultural background. After participating in YEC, however, my business grew to include a couple of non-profit organizations. Through much training and learning, I expanded my expertise to include non-profit digital marketing. I continued my learning in the constantly changing field of digital marketing. Through more education, I became a Certified Professional using Hootsuite, a social media marketing software. Since participating in YEC, it's been exciting to grow in these different areas!"

Q: What were your key takeaways from participating?

A: "I learned so much from my YEC experience! One thing that struck me was planning. Planning is extremely important. You need to know where you want your business to end up and how you're going to get there. Also, get out and about to network with fellow entrepreneurs and potential clients! A point my local YEC judges stressed is target market. Know your target market, but be flexible when a new market opens up."

Q: What are your plans to grow your business in the future?

A: "In the future, I plan to share my business in many places and gain new clients.  Future goals also include expanding my knowledge and skills. I'm always looking to learn new techniques to offer my clients the highest quality service possible. As time goes on, I'd love to venture into new markets as they present themselves."
