Rawlins County Overview
Rawlins County became an Entrepreneurship Community (E-Community) following the first competitive round in 2007. 

Rawlins County is home to a growing group of agricultural producers and hunting and tourism businesses that are developing direct markets to the Rocky Mountain Front Range.  A current trend separating Rawlins County from others is the significant number of young entrepreneurs starting or taking over downtown businesses.  Many are alumni returning home to be a part of “something.” 

Rawlins County Schools are a key element of the community’s success, consistently achieving academic test scores in the top 10% in Kansas and offering a tradition of excellence in athletics and extracurricular activities.

  The Fort Hays State University Small Business Development Center offers free & confidential business management counseling, including business plan development, marketing, financial analysis for existing businesses & start-ups.

  The Kansas Department of Commerce Business Development Division promotes the growth, diversification, and retention of existing business, as well as assists in recruiting new businesses to Kansas, and creating new job opportunities.
